Link Profile Report

Visualize and analyze your backlink profile, and compare with competitors.

Updated over a month ago

The Link Profile Report gives a visual and interactive overview of your backlink portfolio. It helps identify patterns, risks, and opportunities at a glance through comprehensive charts and breakdowns.

What you'll see

The report includes the following data points:

Top anchors

The 10 most used anchor texts by number of links. Helps identify overused or brand-focused anchors, which can signal over-optimization or strong brand awareness.

Top anchor terms

The 10 most common words appearing in anchor texts. Useful for keyword distribution analysis and discovering dominant thematic patterns.

Moz metrics

  • Domain Authority (DA): Indicates the overall strength of linking domains.

  • Page Authority (PA): Measures the authority of the specific linking pages.

  • MozRank: Reflects the link popularity of the linking pages. These distributions help spot the quality mix of your backlink sources.

Spam Score

Distribution of links by Moz Spam Score. Highlights the potential risk of penalties if many links are from spammy domains.

Google Index status

Shows whether the source pages are indexed. Links from unindexed pages may have little to no SEO value.

Link type

Breakdown of links by type (text vs. image). Text links generally carry more SEO weight.

Top TLDs

The 10 most frequent top-level domains (e.g., .com, .org). Useful for spotting geographical relevance, domain diversity, or footprint patterns.

IP geolocation

A map showing the distribution of links by server IP location. Useful for detecting unnatural geographic clustering or local market penetration.

Top landing pages

The 10 most linked-to pages on your site. Helps identify content that attracts backlinks or may need optimization.

Rel attribute

Distribution by rel values (e.g., follow, nofollow, sponsored). A well-balanced mix is desirable to maintain a natural backlink profile and avoid suspicion of manipulation.

Top class C IPs

The 10 most frequent class C IPs. Clustering here could reveal PBNs or shared hosting risks.

Top referring domains

The 10 domains with the most backlinks. Useful for relationship management and backlink source analysis.

Most chart elements are clickable. Clicking displays the list of associated links for deeper inspection.

Filters

You can refine the entire report using these filters:

  • Rel attribute (e.g., follow, nofollow)

  • Disavowed / Not disavowed

  • Status (e.g., OK, error, lost)

CSV exports

The following elements are exportable to CSV (including the full list, not just top 10):

  • Anchors

  • Anchor terms

  • TLDs

  • IP geolocation

  • Landing pages

  • Class C IPs

  • Referring domains

Compare with competitors

The dropdown lets you switch from viewing a single domain’s profile to comparing it side-by-side with its competitors. This view highlights key differences in:

  • Anchor term strategy

  • Authority (DA, PA, MozRank) distribution

  • Spam Score risks

  • Link types (text vs. image)

  • TLD diversity

  • Link origin countries

  • Link attributes (follow/nofollow, etc.)

This comparison helps you identify gaps and opportunities in your backlink strategy. For example, if a competitor has stronger authority distribution or more geographic diversity, you might prioritize acquiring links from similar sources. Or, if your anchor terms are overly concentrated, it may signal over-optimization.

Summary

The Link Profile Report is ideal for quickly assessing the structure and quality of your backlink profile. With interactive graphs, advanced filters, and side-by-side comparisons, it’s a powerful tool for SEO audits, competitive analysis, and link strategy refinement.
