If you discover toxic or unwanted backlinks that could harm your site’s SEO, Linkody makes it easy to disavow them—either at the link level or domain level—and generate a file ready for Google’s Disavow Tool.
How to disavow links
You can disavow links in two ways:
1. From the Links Report
While reviewing your backlinks, you can disavow a link directly:
Click the gear icon next to any link in the Links Report
Select “Disavow”
Choose whether to disavow the specific page or the entire domain
This is the fastest way to disavow suspicious links as you spot them.

2. From the Disavow Report
Go to the Disavow Report to manage all your disavowed URLs and domains:
Click "Add Rule" to manually disavow a URL or domain
Use the "Import" button to add multiple entries in bulk
The import option is especially convenient if the website was previously managed with another SEO tool or you already have a disavow list.
What the Disavow Report shows
The Disavow Report lists all active disavow rules in your account, including:
The target (URL or domain)
The type (page or domain-level)
The date the rule was created
You can review, manage, and remove entries as needed.
Exporting your disavow file for Google
Once your disavow list is ready:
Click "Export" in the Disavow Report
This generates a
.txt
file in the correct format for GoogleGo to the Google Disavow Tool and upload the file (Search Console verification required)
⚠️ Google recommends using this tool only if you believe certain backlinks are harming your site and cannot be removed manually.
